Thanks to the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) through their Capital Grant program, the Parent Resource Centre (PRC) has undergone several exciting renovations that have made a big difference in how we serve the Ottawa community.
We’re thrilled to share the ways this grant has helped us improve our space and better support the children, families, and professionals who walk through our doors every day.
A More Inviting and Functional Boardroom

We fully renovated our boardroom to create a space that feels welcoming, professional, and functional. With new furniture, a kitchenette, a coffee bar, blinds, and shelving, the room is now perfect for meetings, trainings, and collaborative gatherings. The updated environment fosters stronger connections among staff, families, and community partners and supports our goal of creating an inclusive and community-focused atmosphere.
New Flooring for Safer, Happier Play

Our play space is the heart of many of our programs. The old flooring, which was stained and cracked, was no longer safe or suitable for active children. We installed fresh, durable, and safe flooring that creates a calming space where little ones can play, learn, and grow. This upgrade ensures the environment is not only visually appealing but also physically supportive of early childhood development.
A More Comfortable Counselling Space

To support parents during often sensitive and emotional moments, we upgraded the furniture in our counselling office. This simple yet impactful improvement helps make the space feel more comfortable and welcoming, allowing for meaningful conversations in a safe and calming setting.
A Revamped Toy Library

Our beloved Toy Library got a complete refresh with new shelving, updated equipment, and a fresh coat of paint. These changes have made the space more organized, accessible, and enjoyable for families. Borrowing educational toys is now easier and safer, supporting fun, play-based learning at home for families across Ottawa.
A Bonus Upgrade: Donated Stove Vent
While we had originally planned to install a stove vent as part of the grant project, we’re happy to share that Ottawa Community Housing generously donated this upgrade, allowing us to direct grant funding to other critical improvements.
These renovations have truly transformed our Centre. They’ve improved not only how our space looks, but how it functions—for staff, for families, and for our community as a whole. We are so grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for believing in our mission and helping us create a more welcoming, supportive, and inspiring place to gather, learn, and grow.
Thank you, Ontario Trillium Foundation, for your support!
