This year, the Parent Resource Centre proudly celebrates 50 years of strengthening families in Ottawa. Since 1975, PRC has been a trusted partner for parents and caregivers, offering free programs, expert guidance, and a warm, welcoming space where families can grow, connect, and thrive. To mark this milestone, we’re launching our $50 for 50 Years campaign, with the goal of raising $50,000 to support all of PRC’s vital services — from playgroups and parent coaching to our Toy Library and Parent Support Line. Your donation will help us continue providing responsive, inclusive support for parents, caregivers, and children across our community. EarlyON Playgroups
Our free drop-in playgroups offer a fun, flexible space for children (0–6 years) and their parents, grandparents, or caregivers to play, explore, and connect. EarlyON facilitators are on-site to offer support and answer questions. For new parents, our baby groups (0–18 months) provide a welcoming space to bond with your infant, share experiences, and receive guidance from caring EarlyON staff.
A gift of $50 can provide craft and play materials for a week of enriching activities for dozens of children.
Toy Library
Our free drop-in Toy Lending Library lets families borrow fun, engaging toys for up to two weeks — at no cost. Toy Library Coordinator are on hand to help you choose age-appropriate, developmentally enriching toys for every stage of your child’s early learning. We love seeing the joy and excitement on children’s faces when they discover something new to take home!
A gift of $50 can add a high-quality educational toy to our collection, enjoyed by hundreds of children over time.
Family Resilience Program
Our Family Resilience Program offers client-centered, trauma-informed parenting support for families with children aged 0–18 across the Greater Ottawa Area. We provide resources, workshops, situational counselling, advocacy, and work with other professionals to ensure families get the support they need.
Parenting isn’t easy — there’s no manual. Our team helps parents navigate child development, build healthy attachments, strengthen positive parenting skills, and find effective guidance strategies.
A gift of $50 can provide a parent with one-on-one guidance to navigate a parenting challenge with confidence and support.
