CODE OF CONDUCT 

Parent Resource Centre (PRC) believes in honesty, integrity and respect and requires all employees working on behalf of the organization to uphold these values. The purpose of this policy is to outline the organization's expectations when it comes to the behaviour and conduct of its employees.

POLICY 

PRC is committed to doing business in a respectful and ethical & transparent manner. Employees of PRC are expected to behave in a professional and courteous manner toward the organization, fellow employees, our clients, and the public at all times.  

Employees will adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Work scheduled hours and continually strive for excellence 

  • Work collaboratively, treat everyone with dignity and respect 

  • Provide a safe, welcoming, empathetic environment for clients, staff & volunteers 

  • Take responsibility for their choices and actions  

  • Represent PRC, both in and outside of work, in a positive manner 

  • Maintain a climate of trust, honesty and respect in the workplace by handling information with an appropriate level of confidentiality 

  • Establish and maintain clear and appropriate boundaries in professional relationships 

  • Use company resources and property as intended 

 

Parent Resource Centre will not tolerate: 

  • Racism, exclusion, discrimination, harassment, bullying or violence of any kind 

  • Illegal or criminal behaviour including but not limited to stealing, damaging property, or possessing illegal substances or items 

  • Any type of unprofessional behaviour or blatant disregard for the code of conduct  

  • Showing up for work under the influence of any substance that impairs judgement or hinders safety, whether that substance is legal or not 

  • Competing with PRC or using its information or intellectual property for personal gain 

  • Behaving in any untrustworthy manner such as misrepresenting PRC or its services to clients or to the public whether in person or via social media channels 

 

Employees who do not comply with the expectations set out in this code of conduct will be subject to corrective measures or progressive discipline that reflect the severity of the circumstance and may include termination of employment.

The Parent Resource Centre (PRC) is a not-for-profit charity that helps build confident, resilient families in Ottawa.  We provide engaging high-quality programs, a wide variety of social services and supportive resources for children, youth, parents and caregivers in a welcoming environment.
