The Importance of Attachment Parenting

The attachment relationship you have with your child is more important than the strategies or skills found in many parenting books. In this workshop we will discuss how to create a secure attachment, and learn what it means to be “attuned” to your child and respond to their needs and cues. We will also look at how separation based disciplines such as “time outs” increase anxiety in our children and strain the attachment relationship. We will discuss how to connect emotionally with your child, listen to them, and help to calm them to reduce anxiety, and de-escalate tantrums.

Tip of the Day
Practise enjoying the moment. We tend to live in the future, planning and thinking "When the baby's asleep, I'll get some work done", "When he learns to talk, we'll have so much fun." Train yourself to live in the present. This wonderful time will pass very quickly and will never come again.
