It's never too early to start learning about the importance of caring for our environment and all the wonderful creatures on the Earth! Derek starts each class with some basic yoga and then plays silly songs that foster an appreciation for living healthy and environmentally aware. Children are encouraged to 'join the band' by using percussion instruments, playing eco-themed games and of course dancing!

Children learn self-discipline when they have to experience the consequences of their actions. But what consequences should be imposed and when? This workshop will discuss at what age to start using this way of teaching self-discipline and will help you set and maintain reasonable consequences. Consequences don’t need to be severe to work, just inevitable.

IECSS Advisory Workshop
IECSS Advisory Committee Workshop presented with Shaking the Movers: Can disability be positive? About this Event

The Inclusive Early Childhood Service System (IECSS) project is seeking young people to engage in an advisory workshop on children’s rights and disability. The purpose of the workshop is to hear from young people about their ideas and perspectives on issues related to their lived experiences using a rights-based approach. In order to ensure that young people with disabilities are heard in decisions and research about them, these perspectives will be incorporated into the preparation of research about disability as experienced by children, the adults who support them and the professionals who work with them. In addition, the advisory group’s comments will be shared with governments and civil society.

For more information about the IECSS project visit: http://inclusiveearlychildhood.ca/
