Dance and move with the best little partner of all – your baby! With little ones snuggled in to baby carriers, Salsa Babies™ offers a great workout, a chance to socialize with other parents and an opportunity to introduce one’s child to music and movement. Not to mention, it’s perfect for people who have always wanted to learn to dance, but could never convince their partner to take lessons! Classes are appropriate for babies 6-8 weeks of age and up.

Designed for children 18 months to 5 years, who have outgrown the carrier and are ready to dance on their own two feet! Featuring original latin music, Salsa Tots™ combines movement and play with lively rhythms that parents and kids can both enjoy! You’ll find keeping up with your little one in our 45 min class will get your heart rate up and you will be a great role model for your child. Music, dance and play are important at any age! By fully engaging in the program along with your child, not only will you be reinforcing their experience but you will find you are enjoying yourself and feeling like a kid again.

Through exploration of resources such as activities, songs, and rhymes we will learn how to identify the children’s emerging interests, how to encourage these interests through your own invitations, as well as create new ones based on the themes presented in Dr. Seuss’ book One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. Participants will leave with a book, ideas and materials to build on.

Fueling for full day learning

You and your child, along with a Community Dietitian and Parent Support Worker, will make several nutritious snacks together plus one lunch.  Parents will learn how to plan healthy school lunches and snacks based on Canada’s Food Guide.  As well, they will learn the benefits of having the children help prepare their own lunches and snacks. ** Please advice of any food allergies when registering as food prepared will be shared at the end of the workshop. For parents and their children aged 3½ years to starting 1st grade in September.
